We will be in London over Easter weekend 2018 (departing Tuesday, April 3rd to come back home). We will be in Paris before coming over to London and I'm debating which city to give one extra day to (I have nine nights to split up). If I give the extra night to Paris, that would have our arrival in London fall on Good Friday, which is a bank holiday. Would that be a big deal (thinking not, but wanted to check)? My husband and I have been to both cities, but are traveling with our 7-year-olds this time around, and have a pretty equal number of interests in both cities. Paris is slightly less expensive when it comes to room and board. Given that, any input on which city you would give the extra night to? Any apartment recommendations for either or both cities? Thanks!
Good Friday isn't so much observed in London now as it is in Catholic countries like France. Most larger shops and pretty much all restaurants will stay open. Some state-run attractions may be closed. There might be closures on the Underground and railways for engineering works, but it's too early to check that.
