London dining suggestions

I had planned on having afternoon tea later this month at Kensington Palace’s Orangery but now realize it is closed. Does anyone know if the experience at the Kensington Palace Pavilion is similar? Or should I just put together my own tea at the Victoria and Albert?

Also, any dinner recommendations for the South Bank, near Lambeth?

Sorry - staying in a hotel on the Thames, south of Lambeth bridge. I would consider all price ranges, but perhaps not ultra posh. Thank you!

I had a disappointing meal at Riverside 2 on Kennington Rd. That's one I recommend you avoid. It's located between the Imperial War Museum and the Lambeth North tube station.
