London City Pass - Oyster Card Question & Dining Guide

For those of you that have purchased the London City Pass with the Travel Plan (Oyster Card) and bought it with the mobile option (vs the passes being mailed to you or picked up in London), how did the Oyster card delivery work?

I think the Oyster card is a physical card so do they mail to you or do you have to pick it up since you can't download it.

Also, anyone buy the Dining Guide and if so, was it worth it?

Perhaps you've already done your research, but you might have a look at simply doing the 2for1 offers - http://www.toptiplondon.com/places-to-visit/2-for-1-offers. Depending upon how many are traveling and what it is you want to see, this may work out to be more cost effective.

The Oyster card is a physical, plastic card on which travel credits are loaded.

As for the Dining Guide - I've never purchased it (10 trips to London and counting!). I did the math and for our purposes it never made sense financially.

Assuming you are ordering well in advance, the Oystercard can be posted to you or you can just get it at the airport.

A London Pass is not usually considered good value, but check out what you want to see and do the maths. 2-4-1 cards are usually better options.

I can't speak to the London City Pass as I've never used it, but you can just buy an Oyster card at any Tube or overground train station, as well as many shops (look for the Oyster symbol in the window). The self-service machine is very easy to work and it will spit out your card. You can top it up with whatever pass makes sense based on the duration of your trip. Hang on to it at the end of the trip and use it when you return next.
