London B&B recommendations

We will be traveling to London in August and are looking for a great centrally located (near a Tube station preferably) B&B for our 4 night stay. Any recommendations? Preferably no more than $200GBP / night.

TIA,

Kim

Most hotels in London include breakfast in the room rate. I like the hotel called "Number 63" on Bayswater road. It is fairly small, with great breakfasts. Paddington is 10 minutes (walking) away with several Tube stations, and there is a Tube station one block away. Bus service in the area is extensive. Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens are across the street from the hotel. The Swan pub is on the same block.

Check the London Bed & Breakfast Association: They have rooms in private homes throughout London. We stayed in Kildare Gardens near Paddington in a nice double room with full bath in hall (we were the only ones using it) and full breakfast in dining room. We took a 1st floor room so we could leave early in the mornings to go to all the street markets. We were also near to Nottinghill. You should be find something pleasant in your price range.

I have stayed in private homes through two B&B networks in London - At Home in London, and London Home to Home. They both have a range of locations, prices, and properties. In August 2008, I particularly enjoyed our stay in Cornwall Gardens, South Kensington through At Home in London; I had wonderful political discussions with our hostess over my delicious breakfast. I just checked prices and they are running around 100 - 125 GBP per night for 2 people.

Have a great trip!
