I have trip scheduled for Easter in London. I have been there before and do not have to see the jewels again or the changing of the guards. Has anyone been there for that week or should I book the following week. I wanted to take some day trips to oxford, see Harry Potter etc.
We went to the Easter mornng service at St. Paul's many years ago. The music was just as wonderful as expected.
Just expect Easter Sunday to be very quiet everywhere, including public transport. Expect the trains to be busy either side.
Because it's school holidays, the Harry Potter Studio tour will be booked up very early. Apart from that, and Nigel's points I don't see major issues.
Easter holidays tend to be busy at family attractions. Book the Harry Potter Studios as soon as you know your dates.
There are UK holidays for most people on the Friday and Monday either side of the Easter weekend, as well as longer holidays for school kids, so a lot of Brits will be taking advantage of the break to go to London. Accommodation may be more expensive than usual. And trains maybe running a reduced Sunday-style service on Friday and Monday so check times carefully if planning to visit Oxford etc.
You should find all tourist attractions open as usual but note that big shops are closed by law on Easter Sunday so don't plan a shopping trip to Harrods that day.
