I'm looking for creative artisans I could visit in London. Kind of off the beaten path artisans that only locals know about.

What type of artisans are you looking for? Painters? Sculptors? Jewelry makers?
A trip to Eel Pie Island outside London might of interest.
Artisans need to make a living so I’d meander about Portobello Market, visit Shoreditch, and research Hackney and Peckham.

I've always found the UK in general a good place for quality crafts. It's possible it's the accessibility of information due to the shared language that just makes it seem so. In any case, some Googling will probably turn up useful info.
I don't know that you'll find a lot of makers living in London. The cost of living is so very high there, and being a craftsperson isn't usually very remunerative.
Are there particular media you're interested in?
