Has anyone used a London booking agency (instead of airbnb or vrbo) to book London apartments for a week stay?

I haven't yet. I have found some agency options just by Googling for London apartments, but I found nothing of interest for me as a solo renter with any of them.
You can use Booking.com and choose apartments along with any other filters that are important to you. Flip Key might be another alternative.
The serviced apartment rental agencies most in tune with my preferences are Frasers Hospitality and the Citadines. Similar resources come up by Googling London serviced apartments.
The two locations I asked about (Trafalgar Square and Holborn-Covent Garden) in my question yesterday were for Citadines properties.

I booked an apartment with this company a few years back. It was a nice two bedroom, quite spacious. http://www.castletownhouse.co.uk. We booked with London Connection over Christmas, which I found on VRBO. We are returning to London soon and booked with LC again, but directly, and were able to negotiate a bit since it is still off-season. The apartment was extremely well-equipped, clean, comfortable. Really first class, not someone's worn-a-bit granny place.

I used http://www.wimdu.com/ for a stay last November. Very good service. very nice apartment.
