I plan to book a flat in London through The Independent Traveller (their web address is visitapartmentslondon.co.uk or gowithit.co.uk) and wonder if anyone has any experience with them? You hear so much about internet scams these days I'd be glad to have the reassurance of a third party recommendation before I commit to the rental.

Been around for ages.
Booked with them in the early 90's. No problems that I can recall but then I can barely remember yesterday.
If concerned why not use AirBnB or Vrbo?

I see you have responses on TripAdvisor, one of which seems to indicate they mark up the prices quite a bit over other agencies.

Well there was one statement to that effect, but when I saw the same place listed on airbnb or vrbo the price was actually slightly higher, so I'm not too worried about getting gouged. And I appreciate their help in finding something to suit my particular needs
(and their keeping an eye on the places they rent out to make sure appropriate standards are maintained).
