Is the 7-day travel card a paper card or something that is reflected on the Oyster Card or both? If both which is preferred? And where do you purchase the 7-day travel card and/or the Oyster Card. We are leaving for London this Sunday. Thanks for any guidance you can provide.
A few weeks ago, we purchased the Oyster Card at the Heathrow tube station and had them load it with 7 days of unlimited travel in Zones 1 & 2, including a small additional surcharge to cover the Heathrow to London center portion (Heathrow is not in Zone 1 or 2).
It is both. The only benefit of the paper version is the qualification for the 2-1 admission offers. If these are no interest, do as Kent indicates. If they are then you would need to buy from a national rail station once you are in London.
If you're going to buy a 7 day paper travelcard to benefit from the 2 for 1 offers, don't forget that you need passport size (not quality) photos for each card.
