Logistics question before and after tour in Cotswolds

I’m starting to nail down how to get to several places we want to go while on our upcoming trip and need some help. I just booked our day trip with Go Cotswolds. It picks up at the Moreton in Marsh train station.
We will be coming from Chipping Campden. I know about The Robin and have downloaded their app. I also have the list of taxi companies that has been shared with me. The cost of a taxi between the two is $45, which split between the three of us isn’t bad, but The Robin is $4 pp. I wouldn’t want to miss our meet up with the tour bus, so I was thinking we should go ahead and pre book the taxi, but on the return drop off at the train station, do you think booking The Robin would be doable? Their app only allows you to book out two weeks in advance, so I can’t see yet if I can manage it. Has anyone used that service? Possibly between Chipping Campden and Moreton in Marsh? Is it reliable? Obviously we would need to walk to/ from their pickup stop locations in Chipping Camden, but that isn’t unacceptable. We’re hoping to use buses and The Robin for much of our traveling in between the villages.
I’ve downloaded Stagecoach and Pulhams apps. Are there any other companies for transportation that I need to also add?

Thanks everyone in advance for your help.

For travel on a Saturday or a Sunday from Chipping Campden into the Cotswolds there is also the Troopers Lodge Motor Services Vintage Bus #11- https://www.cotswoldvintagebushire.com/service11/

As well as being a sort of tour it is also a Stage Carriage (local service) bus with point to point fares.

I love the look of that lovely double decker, Stuart.

Sad that the first run to Moreton in Marsh isn't until 11:15.

What a fun way to travel! I’m trying to decipher the reverse times for this bus from the timetable, though. If we were to come into the train station at Moreton in Marsh on a Saturday or Sunday, could we take the 11 bus to Chipping Campden? For example, would it pick up at the train station at 1540 and have the final stop at Chipping Campden at 1615?

Yes 1450, 1550, 1650 and 1750 from M-i-M station, arriving at Chipping Campden 25 minutes later, for £5. per person each way.

Hmmm. I wonder about doing this from the station upon arrival rather than hiring a taxi. The problem is we will each have a 22 inch carryon piece of luggage and personal item (small backpack, crossbody, etc). I wonder if the luggage would pose an inconvenience for other travelers, especially given the build type of the heritage buses. I wouldn’t want to cause any disturbance.

You might want to contact Go Cotswolds. I took their tour back in 2019 and I am pretty sure that Chipping Camden was the first stop after the pick-up in Moreton in Marsh. If they are still doing the same route, you might be able to meet them there.

if it had been a Routemaster there would be a luggage area under the stairs

I have just spoken to a lovely lady at Troopers Lodge and she assured me that there is in fact the luggage store under the stairs and that they get a number of people joining them with luggage and that's not a problem at all.

I'm convinced that they will find a way to make it work.

This is just wonderful! Thank you so much Nigel and Stuart for your suggestion and help on this arrival connection. What a fun way to start our trip by traveling on one of the Heritage buses! I can’t wait to see which one we get. We’re still going to utilize the taxi (Cotswolds Executive Cabs- Tina has been very helpful and quick to respond to my enquiries- very much appreciated) for the day trip day and a couple other destinations. We also are hoping to travel on the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway while we are there, so our time experiencing historic modes of travel will be well represented! So grateful for the wonderful people on this forum who help make the planning process easier!
