One of the things that I enjoy when we travel is to stay in a variety of accommodations. On our upcoming three week trip in April, we have a London hotel, cottage in Cornwall, BB near the Royal Crescent in Bath and I am now looking for an old "coach inn" or room above a pub for two nights in the Cotswolds. Any suggestions? We will have a car and are only requirements are WIFI (for planning our next day) and parking. Ideally under 100 pounds a night for a two night Wed & Thus night stay. I have the RS book but I am sure there are a lot of villages that he can't possibly cover. Thanks.
I would highly recommend The Ebrington Arms, in Ebrington which is two miles from Chipping Campden.
Check out Sawdays https://www.sawdays.co.uk. They are likely to have something like you are describing.
We like the Volunteer Inn in Chipping Campden. It was a large B&B with the best pub in town and had a great Indian Restaurant.
Try The Fleece in Bretforton - not quite the Cotswolds, but on the edge (Vale of Evesham). Very old pub ,owned by The National Trust ...a place for folk music and Morris dancing ...
We are walking the Cotswold Way in June next year and our British friends who are walking with us have booked two different pubs as part of our accommodations. They are The Rising Sun in Cleve Hill and The Royal George in Birdlip. Both were under 100 GBP for a double room. They stayed at The Royal George last year, and had dinner at The Rising Sun and liked both places.
I stayed at the Victoria House in Stow-on-the-Wold. Smaller rooms, but very clean and cozy..right downtown and the price per night was good.
During this trip, I stayed at 3 Inns that had pubs below, and never had an issue with noise -- so if you do go that route, I think you'll be just fine.
