LNER Retimings- Plessey Viaduct, near Morpeth

Due to the ongoing storm damage repairs to the Plessey Viaduct south of Morpeth some LNER southbound departures from Edinburgh will be up to 10 minutes early from next Monday- 23 October.
This is due to only 1 of 4 lines being in use over the Plessey viaduct.
This is to maintain right time south of Newcastle.

Journey planners will be correct from Saturday 21 October.

Coach replacements Alnmouth to Morpeth to Newcastle continue.

This will be in force until at least 10 November.

The Plessey viaduct has reopened this morning ahead of time, so train services have been restored in both directions (local and long distance). For the next few days there is an ongoing speed restriction in the area so there may still be minor disruption, but basically good news.
