LHR transfer time for split ticket

Hi all,
EU traveller taking flight from LDY to LHR and onward to Brussels.
Loganair flight into Terminal 2 LHR, Brussels Airlines flight from LHR Terminal 2 to Brussels.
2 hours 20 minutes stop over in LHR on the way out, 3 hours 15 on the return trip.
Looking at booking a split ticket.
Neither the travel agent, LHR customer service or Brussels airlines can tell me if I have to come through passport control and security and re-enter via security, in order to make each connecting flight.
Would the transfer time I have available be sufficient to make the onward flights?

LDY is Derry/Londonderry

So, from LDY to LHR is an internal UK flight - no passport control at LHR. Security you'll do at LDY. But if you have checked luggage, you'll need to reclaim it and do security again at LHR before boarding your Brussels flight. Without checked luggage, just make your way to your connecting flight via flight connections at LHR.

On your way back, passport control at LHR, you'll also do security at LHR, regardless of whether you have luggage or not.

Will you have sufficient time? Who knows - in the lap of the gods that one.

Thank you both. This is my first time using this forum!
Travel agent wasn't sure if I could use connecting flight channel if passport control was needed. Your reply that passport control won't be necessary on the outward route and that connecting flight route can be used is very useful info.
To ensure minimal delay in LHR, I plan to bring cabin luggage only, although Loganair only permits luggage 40cm max./6kg!
LHR Customer Service suggested I check that LHR flight connecting app - when I inputted flight details for the outward and return journey, the App advises to allow 60 minutes transfer time in LHR.
Hopefully, on the return route the passport control queue will move quickly! Booking flights tomorrow.

It's always risky to self connect, your first flight could be delayed. Will you make it? Who knows, but the stop overs are shorter than I would be comfortable with.

If it was my trip my first option would probably be a flight from Belfast to Amsterdam and then a train to Brussels.

(Also, it's usually better to use actual airport names/cities at least one person on the forum (me) don't know all airport codes in Europe.)
