LHR to STN - enough time?

My flight arrives LHR 1030am on June 15th and I have a connecting flight at STN at 16:10. Is this enough time to make the connection without a lot of stress? How long does it typically take to get out of LHR and onto the bus (or Uber)?

thanks!

TFL reckons the above journey will take just under 2 hours. A National Express coach has a slightly quicker travel time but the service is less than hourly and will be subject to the vagaries of the motorway network so could easily be delayed.

Either way the 5 hours 40 minutes you have allowed should be OK as long as there is not a serious delay on the first flight.

that's brave.

Transatlantic flight arriving at 10:30? Which terminal? Could be early, could be late. Immigration may be quick with egates, or it could be like last week with 2 hour delays. Luggage? Could be quick or slow. I'd be looking at getting on the train around 11:30. The 11:30 Elizabeth line no changes to London Liverpool Street is scheduled at 44 minutes from T4 (which terminal for you?) so 12:15ish. The Elizabeth has been beset by delays recently so can't promise.

Stansted Express takes from 46 to 49 minutes, depending on departure time. So can you make the 12:25? Or will it be the 12:40? Let's assume the latter - arrives Stansted 13:27.

So you could, if everything goes really smoothly, be checking in around 13:35. With a 2 hour check in (if using Wizz, RyanAir, Easyjet or similar don't miss any of their deadlines or you will pay and may not fly), you could possibly catch a 15:35 flight.

Your flight is at 16:10? Whew, you have have half an hour to play with....

You would be much braver than me. Anything goes even a little bit erp and won't be a happy bunny.

I wouldn't consider it, even on a Saturday.

National Express buses on Saturday, June 15th.

11:05 - 12:25

12:30 -13:55
13:05 - 15:50

The only option would be the 12:30 - 13:55. I would not risk the bus, the M25 is notorious for heavy traffic and slowdowns. If your flight arrives on time, and you get through immigration quickly, it would be better to jump on the train and begin your journey to Stansted ASAP. Or you could look at getting a private driver from LHR to STN. This would give you the extra time upfront on the road. If you got into the car at say 11:30 - 11:45. you would very likely get to Stansted on time - it won't be cheap, but rearranging your flight might not be either.

(my brother lives 5 mins from Stansted so I do this trip often).
