Is anyone able to provide a recommendation for a reliable car service from LHR to Oxford on April 18 (Good Friday)? Our family of 4 is flying in from Canada and are spending 3 nights in Oxford before touring the Cotswolds. By the time we paid 4 train fares the price of a car and driver is not much more and worth the convenience when jet lagged. We are renting a car in Oxford when we leave there on Monday. TIA!
Sorry, I have no information on a car service, but did want to mention that it's actually quicker and easier to take the Airline bus, which travels directly from Heathrow to Oxford in about 90 minutes; unlike trains, which will route you through London first. Tickets are only £25 one way, and get you there with a minimum of fuss and stops, complete with luggage. I used it last year and it was very convenient and comfortable.
Another vote for the bus from the airport to Oxford. The bus was very nice and clean. The driver helpful. It was easy peasey and I'll use it again next time I visit.

You might check Blackberry cars; they are often suggested on this board for airport transfers.
Also consider the Oxford bus company which runs between Heathrow and makes several stops in Oxford. The bus terminal in Heathrow is very convenient and the bus service is comfortable and safe. Check the website: www.oxford.co.uk.
Good thinking!
In 2023, we used Blacklane for a couple of trips in England - excellent experience both times.
Ask your Oxford hotel, they will know
Thanks everyone! Might price out the car service on our way to Oxford and use the bus to return a week later. Much appreciated!
Sarah, just FYI but its 25 GBP for a one way ticket but only 35 for a round trip ticket, so you'll save a lot with the round trip if that works for you!
I agree, take the direct bus. If you looked for trains you probably got some pricey options via London, but the direct bus is comfortable, frequent and pretty much as fast as it can be. It is also cheap, a return ticket for four persons costs £70-80.
I took the Airline bus from LHR to Oxford when I went there for a day trip last year. It was rather delayed though, causing me to miss a scheduled walking tour. Overall the comfort was nice, though. I think there is only one stop in High Wycombe in between before the first Oxford area stop.
Enjoy Oxford and the Cotswolds!

That is difficult to do arriving off a flight at Heathrow (which could be early, late or cancelled) as a group fare has to be pre-booked on a specific date and time for the £70 fare, or a specific date and time for the outward portion of an £80 far, flexible for the return fare.
Better just to buy 4x individual fares.
