LHR or GAT COVID testing procedures

Hello,

My wife and I are now traveling from Washington DC to Heathrow then connecting to Gatwick to Inverness in mid-September. Once we arrive at Heathrow, we hired a driver to take us to Gatwick for our next flight to Inverness which is on the same day as arrival to Heathrow.
I would like to know what the process is for us to get our COVID test (by day 2).
Must we do that at Heathrow?
Can we do that at Gatwick?
Are there locations set up that are easily accessible?

Thanks for the input.

It has to be done by day 2. You arrival day is day 0 so you could not worry about it and get it done in Inverness.

I haven't read the most recent pronouncements, just skimmed the many pages, but if it is like the way it has been for us returning, the tests have to be booked in advance from a list of approved private providers (not free government provided ones) and paid for in advance and the details put on the PLF.

My understanding is the same as Nigel’s. Are you going to be in Inverness on day 2? Do an internet search for wherever you will be. It must be booked and paid for before you arrive here and you can’t do your own LFT. Requirements may change before then, of course.
