We are flying iceland air from Iceland to LWG. I have booked a flight via are lingus to dublin that leaves about 2.5 hours after arriving in LGW. We will NOT be checking a bag.
Is this a long enough layover considering it is a different reservation entirely?

You are going to need to clear British immigration as flights to Ireland from the UK are operated as domestic rather international as they are within the Common Travel Area. Not sure if they have a dedicated facility for this as they do at Heathrow - quite possibly not, so you are in the queue with every one else arriving.
Having said all that you are still likely to make it providing you aren't delayed inbound, which is always a risk.
Best to be checked-in to Aer Lingus online with boarding passes.
