LGW layover

I will have a 3 hour layover at LGW. IS that enough time to get to Kings Crossing and back?

No.

I have to use more characters to submit the response, but the answer is no.

No you don't. By the time you get off the plane, go through passport control it could take you 45 minutes or longer. You would have to be back to Gatwick two hours before your flight to go through security. So that eats up your three hours right there. Plus going into and back from London would take an hour, using Gatwick Express.

No, and why would you want to get to Kings Cross and back in the first place?

Robin left off two words at the end:

"Plus going into and back from London would take an hour" EACH WAY.

It's implied in what is said, but if you don't know the travel times, you might think it was meant an hour total. But it's (at least) an hour in and an hour back.

Kim, the Gatwick Express is 30 minutes into London Victoria, 30 minutes back to LGW.

I've should've said then additional time to get to Kings Cross.

The Gatwick Express may only take 30 minutes but it goes into Victoria. They would then have to get on a tube across London to get to Kings Cross.

Alternatively the train direct from Gatwick to St Pancras (right next to Kings Cross).

But the point is moot. 3 hours is the shortest I'd allow for a comfortable change of flights at Gatwick without leaving the station.
