Left luggage/lockers in English train stations, etc.

Hello -- I'm working on cathedral/museum-hopping as part of train travel around the south of England. To string 2 or more cities together on a way to a final destination, I will need to leave my bag in a train station or other location. Disappointing that the National Rail site doesn't say anything about left luggage in its station information.
Would love information if there is a way to leave luggage in or near the train/bus station in any of the following: Windsor, Winchester, Salisbury, Oxford, Blenheim, Bath, Wells, Moreton-in-Marsh, Canterbury.
Thank you!

Thanks Emma -- I've been worried about the issue of terrorist-inspired removal from train stations. I did check the National Rail under "facilities" and "services" for each station and never saw a mention one way or another.
My next plan is to call each tourist information office in each place and ask them. Before I do that, I'd be interested in hearing from anyone else.

And due to budget cuts you may not find tourist information centers anymore. Sad but true. Still worth the effort though.

Theresa, it is only big city stations which have left luggage: the 8 London termini, Birmingham, Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh, Glasgow. That's it. See webpage here: https://www.left-baggage.co.uk/en/locations
No hope with the smaller stations you list.

But, if you google "Left luggage {name of town}", you may be lucky enough to find somewhere else in the town that does it.

The left luggage offices are all manned, and bags are scanned before being accepted. The "terrorist threats" Emma refers to is not the recent ones. The self-service left luggage lockers of the type you see at stations in other European countries were all removed in the 1970's when the IRA discovered they were a good location to put time-delay bombs. Rubbish bins were removed at the same time for the same reason. They have since been replaced with bins having clear plastic bags, so you can see what is inside.

There are no facilities for storing luggage in either the coach or railway station in Oxford.

Oxford Backpackers Hostel used to store bags for non residents - £4 per day. Have to go up stairs for access.

There are also 3 locations listed on the citystasher.com site, including one newsagent near the bus station. I see they also have sites at Bath and Canterbury. £6 per bag

No personal experience of these services.

Try City Stasher...they are a luggage storage listing company that operates in the UK. I just looked and there are three places in Oxford that will store your luggage. Just go to their website, type in the name of the city, and see what's available. Comes with insurance against your bag being damaged! It's a really nice service that I've used several times in the UK and France. Your bags are left in secured rooms at participating businesses. Easy peasy!
