Left Luggage at Paddington Station

Hello! Like many, we are arriving into London in the morning and our Airbnb won't be available until late afternoon. I've read about the "left luggage" option at Paddington Station. My questions are:

1) are those reliably safe to use?
2) are online reservations/pre-payment ahead of time necessary?

There are 5 of us traveling, so it looks like it will be about $125 for 5 carry-ons and 5 backpacks from what I can tell. Does that sound about right to anyone who may have utilized this service?

They are very reliable and you can indeed make arrangements in advance via their site. As Paddington is terminus for the Heathrow Express train there are often long lines to drop off your bags so advance reservations are a smart idea.

Most all the train stations in London have baggage storage so if there is a station closer to your rental it may or may not be easier to haul your bags to a more convenient station for storage.

If the actual location isn't crucial, the left luggage at Victoria Coach station is somewhat cheaper.

Have you checked with the host of your rental? Sometimes they will let you drop off your stuff even though the place isn't ready. Worth a try.
