We are flying BA from Oakland to Gatwick. Our destination is Lisbon, but there is a 9 hour layover and, given how we usually feel after an overnight flight, we've decided to stay and fly out the next morning. Gatwick has several hotels but Langshott looked intriguing. A few miles away, country cottage setting, a restaurant that looks pretty good. Has anyone stayed here? We could do cheaper but that is not a consideration, thanks.

Several times we stayed at the Gable End B&B in Horley, maybe five miles from airport, free pickup and drop off. It is wonderful and highly rated on trip advisor. Just a short walk, maybe ten minutes from The Six Bells Restaurant which is I seem to remember is in a building several hundred years old. Very casual dining and good food. The owners of this B&B are lovely.
