Lancashire Day

This morning I'm on a day trip from Cumbria to Leeds, and had to divert via Preston rather than Carlisle due to a train failure at Leeds before 5am.

Today turns out to be Lancashire Day.

For anyone in the area there are stalls on Preston Station with some very good and interesting information promoting the county and Preston, also the history of the station.

Among the stalls there is an Artisan cake stall selling some seriously scrumptious cakes. If on a train passing through Platforms 3 and 4 today only the cakes are worth a break of journey!! Who cares about calories or it only being 9am.

I will add to this post in the next day or so, unless John New does so in the meantime.

Begrudging and curmudgeonly congratulations to all Lancastrians. It’s not your fault you were born on the wrong side of the Pennines!

You can always tell a Yorkshireman. You just can't tell him very much.

How's it go..there's only three type of people in the world.
Those that are born in Yorkshire.
Those that wish they were ... and people with no ambition at all.
