I’ve done it several times. Always ‘interesting’! Although the road that gave me the most “we’re going to die!” vibes was a wintery descent into Dent from the single track Kingsdale road. NOT recommended!

Ho ho ,it's lunaticly steep heading west you can see the series of hairpins as you descend from Wrynose Pass and you just think " that can't be the road".

Makes the Bealach na Ba look like an Ikea car park.

I had a nerve shredding journey over an ice covered Newlands Pass once ,was so so relieved to get back down to civilisation at Buttermere

Not as dangerous but the minor road up towards Cwn Eigiau might have short sections even steeper

I have driven it and Wrynose Pass numerous times. You need a car with some oomph to get up there. I wouldn’t try it on a busy August weekend. Unless you try turning round (!) you can’t really experience part of it - it’s all or nothing. Good views from the top and it leads to my favourite part of the Lake District - Eskdale.
