And pretty much each of the prizes is very good. I know there is a sub text in that it's good advertising for each of the businesses who have given prizes, and it also spreads the net of tourism a bit further than the usual hot spots- also a good thing.
Spreading the tourism base is a key mission goal of Cumbria Tourism, the Lake District National Park and many people who live and work in the area.
It's well worth entering if intending to visit the area in 2026. Or, like me, a resident. Some are the kind of treat I'd love to do, but would never pay that kind of money if it wasn't a prize, if only because it is so local.
Maybe I shouldn't be posting this, as I'm diminishing my already slim chances of actually winning anything!
