For anyone in the Peak District in the next week or two before winter rains arrive Ladybower Reservoir is currently at it's lowest level since 2022 after the long hot summer.
The ruins of Derwent Village and the long lost Derwent Hall have emerged again, so this is a good time to visit.
When rain does come levels rapidly rise, and mid winter is the ideal time to see the overflows through the huge 'plugholes'.
