I'm looking for reasonably priced restaurant suggestions for dinners with my family in the Knightsbridge/Kensington/Belgravia area. I'm finding so many expensive restaurants (over 40 pounds per person) but almost nothing in-between that and a pizza shop. We're renting a flat near Harrod's. If you have lunch recommendations, feel free to throw those at me too--but I'm mainly focusing on finding solid restaurants for dinner. Thanks!
You know you can dine in pubs with the children up until a certain hour like 8 or 9pm. Pub grub these days is quite nice and "no" you do not have to order alcohol. Not a huge hit on your wallet either. Maybe Emma or other British natives can convey exact times.
That said you are staying in one of the more pricier neighborhoods and nearby restaurants reflect that reality. Check online to see if chains like Wagamamma, Nandos, Masala Zon or Zizzi are nearby. I've not stayed in that area since the 1st Clinton years so can't be specific. Hopefully other posters will come through for you. Enjoy your stay.
The area around the South Kensington tube station is full of restaurants. I clicked on a few of them at random in Google Maps, and it looks like many of them have main courses in the 10 pound range, which is about as good as you're going to get at a sit-down restaurant in London.
