Kiplin Hall in North Yorkshire

Hello all,
I'm attending the 14 day tour of Britain beginning 4/19, which includes 2 nights in York; As it turns out, my direct Calvert ancestors lived in Kiplin Hall, which appears to be a quite interesting place with rich history. So when there's a bit of free time while in York, I'm going to find a way there to take in some family history! Any thoughts or ideas, since this is my first trip to Britain, would be appreciated;

I did find this BBC news story regarding the topic:

Kevin, I wish I could help, but I am a UK rookie. Rome2Rio.com says it is about one hour each way from York to Kiplin Hall by car, such as a very expensive taxi, and about two hours by a combination of train and public bus. Maybe you could convince your guide and driver to make a stop on the drive to York. I will be on that same RS tour starting May 31, so if you have any hot tips for things to see or do during the free time in the various areas, please do post here or send me a PM. Travel well, April 19 is coming up soon!
