Nine of us, (5 adults, one teen and three kids), staying at kings cross Premier Inn want to take a bus down to Westminster pier, and we hope to pass by some of the main sites, like Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey. I’ve tried to look at the tfl app, but I can’t figure out the best bus to take. At the pier, we hope to take an Uber boat to Tower Bridge.we need help deciding what number bus to take.
There is not one bus between the two places.
TFL's recommended bus route (63/148 or 63/11) do not go through any "sights" really, and are sort of indirect, plus there is a walk in the middle.
All of the sights you list are within 200 yards of Westminster pier anyway.
You could get the tube to Piccadilly Circus, then find the stop for 3, 159 etc (there are others, 12, 53) which will take you to Westminster via Trafalgar Square.
Most of the road journey from Kings X to Westminster Pier doesn’t pass the main sights until you get to the Trafalgar Square area. So, number 91 bus and walk from Trafalgar Square seems the best option.
Thank you. Bus 91 it is. Then, after we Uber boat to Tower bridge, cross it, and walk along the south bank and back across the Millenium bridge, would we take the same bus 91 back to kings cross?
No, you’re now east of the 91’s route. I think your best plan is to walk the short distance from the bridge up to St Paul’s churchyard (the road south of the cathedral) and then get a number 17 bus to Kings X.
Thanks so much!
