Kew Palace?

Has anyone been to Kew Palace?
All I'm seeing is that it's part of the Kew Gardens ticket, is it easy to find once you get into Kew Gardens? Apparently it was a family retreat for King George III. Never heard of it before.
Thanks,
-Alison

Yes, I visited the Palace when I went to the gardens in May. There are very knowledgeable docents in period costume in many rooms. I did find that they don’t offer much info BUT if you ask a question they are off and running. Be sure to see the King’s bathtub in the basement kitchens!

The Palace is clearly marked on the map you get when you enter the gardens. They do ask for a voluntary donation to enter but don’t really monitor it.

I particularly liked the herbal garden out back. The laburnum walk was in bloom when I visited and I was so excited to see this. Very beautiful. Interesting explanations of various remedies as well.

Hi Alison, Kew Palace is fun to go into as part of the Kew Garden experience. It is quite small and can be explored quickly. When I visited it featured information about “farmer” George III and his family and the time they would spend at Kew. It is somewhat of a trek from the main gate at Kew but well worth the walk with lovely gardens to explore along the way. You will get a map when you first enter that will show you where the palace is located. Enjoy should you decide to visit!

I think this will work to link you right to the PDF file of the Kew Gardens map. You’ll see the palace off to the right.

I looked at your link and they hype it up as if it’s hidden. It’s not, lol!!

The website clearly states that the Palace admission is part of the Kew Gardens admission so that’s why I mentioned they ask for additional donations but don’t monitor it. I don’t want to come across as a cheapskate but it irritates me to go to a venue that is advertised as included in a ticket price and be asked for additional money.

I was at Kew Gardens last September and it was amazing! Be sure to do the Treetop Walk, and see the Palace.

Only quite a small fraction of the Kew Gardens admission gets to the Palace.

The advertised prices for the Gardens also includes a 'voluntary' donation, which enables them to reclaim UK Income Tax already paid on the total sum for those that do pay it.

Thanks so much for your information. I'd have to get to the rose gardens at least, so it looks not much farther than that.
Thanks again :)
