Kensington hotel K@K George Hotel

Hello , My husband and I are looking into the K@K George Hotel in Kensington because it appears to be in a residential neighborhood and I prefer to be in quiet hotel. We were wondering how long of a tube ride it would be to reach The Tower Bridge area? Another Hotel we were told about on the forum was Hub by Premier on Goodge St. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Val and Mark

The K+K Hotel is evidently near Earls Court tube station so would take about 30 minutes by Underground to Tower Hill tube station.

The Hub hotels are a very different type of hotel - for two people the rooms are a tight squeeze.

Kensington is a pretty yuppie kind of place. But some of those hotels made out of old homes between Kensington and Bayswater stations are not very nice. Be careful when booking.

We stayed in the Hotel Indigo Kensington and we really enjoyed our stay. It's right around the corner from the Earl's Court tube station and it was really convenient to get pretty much anywhere in the city. It was probably about 30 minutes all told to Tower Bridge. There were also a lot of fast restaurants around that area. The hotel also has a nice small restaurant and bar area.

I don't have anything to add about the two hotels you asked about, but I did like staying in that area.

Just to emphasize: the regular room in the Hub by Premier Inn is TINY! It was fine for me as a solo, but for two people, even one night would have been cramped. (When I showed my pictures of the room at our New York travel group, someone assumed it was a single; I had to explain that officially, it was for two).

If you do want to stay at that hotel, definitely book one of their Bigger rooms, which are indeed bigger. (I stayed in one of these on my prior trip). They're still smaller than a regular US motel room, but they are quite workable for two people.

The K &K is down a small lane off Earls Court Road. About a five minute walk to the Earls Court Tube station. (It's not in Kensington.) I've never been inside but it looks very nice from the outside.

Plenty of pubs, shops, restaurants in the area.

My regular hotel is in that neighborhood is the Nadler Kensington. It' surrounded by private homes. Very quiet yet also five minutes from the Earl's Court Tube station. I stay there between two and three months a year.

I doubt the K&K is even a five minute walk from the Earl’s Court tube station. It looks nice from the outside. There are plenty of small hotels like it in that area. It has a majority of very good and excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. As already stated, there are plenty of restaurants in the area and it’s about 30 minutes ride to Tower Hill station. Within a 10 minutes walk there are 3 grocery stores in case you need anything. The Gloucester and S. Kensington tube stops are within walking distance and there are a number of restaurants by each of those. We normally stay at the Radisson on Cromwell Rd., by the Gloucester tube stop. Nice hotel but on a main road. Just returned from London on the 5th.

K@K Geoy Hotel is a five or less mini walk to Earls Court Tube Station, Tower Hill Tube Station would be the 13th stop, a 24 minute ride.
