We stayed at a Citadines apartment in South Kensington in June, on the recommendation of someone on the travel forum. It was a 5 minute walk to the Gloucester Road tube station. There is a 24 hour manned front desk which was helpful for dinner and travel recommendations. If you join their "club", you get 10% off the price. We had a one bedroom studio for 5 nights and it worked for us. Two restaurants we enjoyed in particular were Da Mario and Little India.

We stayed 4 nights at Castletown House Apartments. Very near Earls Court and West Kensington Tube Stations. Piccadilly Line straight to a lot of the big attractions. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Perfectly fine and relatively inexpensive, (for London). We'd stay again.
