Just booked a flat in Westborne green area of London for a week....

The apartment complex is the Westborne Gardens.
Anyone have experience with this neighborhood and is it safe? Will it be suitable for catching the tube? I am pretty ignorant on how the Tube works.....
It's fully refundable so I can change if I want to.
Here is a map:

Generally speaking the location is good, you are only a couple blocks from the Royal Oak stop, a bit further, and you pick up two more stops (Bayswater and Queensway) so access to three different lines, not bad. I would not be concerned about the area, have not spent much time there, but I am not aware of any "dangerous" areas anywhere near there.

It also appears that there is a high street (main street commercial district) nearby, so places to eat, get basic needs, a grocery maybe, a couple pubs; so that is good.

In the end, if the price was right for you, then why change.

10 years Booked my first AirBNB experience nearby. Remember a quiet neighborhood. Used the Royal Oak Tube. Little as far as restaurants but I did like the John Googe Pub. Closed a few years back.

Did you use Google street map POV to check out what is nearby your apartment complex? Use it. Helpful finding what’s close by. ATM, coffee, cafes, markets, etc.

Thanks guys.
I didn't really check into close restaurants as I assume I will be away during the day and evening sightseeing......but thanks for the idea and I will check. I am also glad it's close to a tube.
I've never done the Booking.com private rentals before.....I have always used hotels. But this seems much more bang for the buck and does allow me to at least have some bare essentials in the fridge.

BTW...I was looking at Air BnB but was really turned off that you didn't know the exact address so I could use Google to drive around the neighborhood. I understand the concern for safety of robberies but OTOH.....if your flat is in such a bad neighborhood that people will rob it at the first chance....I dunno. BTW.....I live in a tourist area....The Florida Keys. 90% of our population is tourist so I get the tourism scene. But if I was renting my home out I would definitely let my address be known on the site.

Thanks again guys...you have been a big help!!

The area is pretty upmarket (the clue is that the supermarket is a Waitrose). The area on the other side of the motorway/railway/canal is a bit more down at heel.

I finally looked on Google to see where you’ve chosen to stay and pleased to say you are but 10 minutes away from the Cow Pub and restaurant.

It’s one of my favorite spots for a pint and meal when I’m that neighborhood. Seafood is the claim to fame. It’s small, popular with the pub downstairs.

Plan to pop in when I’m in London later this month.
