Jubilee celebration

Hello!
So, my boyfriend will be in London for work June 1-4 and I was thinking of tagging along and staying June 2-8. First question is the jubilee celebration … how crazy crowded will this be? I’m worried that it will be so busy I won’t be able to enjoy myself! Would it be better to do my day trips on the weekend - thinking of Windsor castle on one day and Stonehenge/Avebury on another day. Second … how safe is London for a single girl walking around? I’m thinking of staying in an Airbnb near farringdon station. Would I be able to carry around my slr camera? Any info/suggestions would be helpful! Thanks in advance!

London is safe. Been traveling there for decades.

Walked around solo my 20’s, 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and now my 70’s. Carried every type of camera from 35mm with lenses to my iPhone.

Its Summer, its the Platinum Jubilee, no more Covid restrictions, and London is one of most popular tourist city on the planet.

So yes it will be crowded but so what, it’s London. Lots to see and do.

What attractions and services (e.g., shops and banks) will be closed over the Jubilee weekend? We have planned a stay in London May 30 to June 6 before realizing that covers the Jubilee weekend, and want to be prepared for what we can and cannot do -- or whether we should change our plans and go elsewhere.

@mikehidler DO NOT change your plans. Banks will be closed. Other than that shops, restaurants, cafes, museums, etc will be open. Do expect crowds, its the first and last Platinum Jubilee.

I think it will be a great time to visit. London will be at its best and I would certainly take time to find a standing spot on the Mall to see the Royals. Arrive early and try to make your way towards Buckingham Palace. The procession will leave Buckingham Palace, go down the Mall, and then into Horse Guards Parade. They will return about 45 minutes later. This will all be on Thursday, June 2nd. It will be a shame to miss it. Crowds are usually heavy but management. It will be safe for you to wander around central London throughout the day. You need to take more care at night and especially going back to your Airbnb. I do not know the Farringdon area and I grew up 50 miles from London but it seems that it is tucked a little away from the main tourist attractions. I know prices are high for London during this time, but as a single female, I would look into staying at a good hotel near to the center of the city. You may have to splurge a little.
