Trying to book our Tower of London tickets online and the website is asking for an issue number for the credit card. I've never come across the before and no number listed on the card seems to work. Help??
Just leave it blank. It not required---no asterisk.
It is a required field. We tried to leave blank. It won't allow us to move forward with it blank.
They may mean the 3 digit CVV on the back of your card. Also, are you sure you selected Visa or Mastercard? Issue number is related to one of the UK cards.
This is just a guess, but maybe because you've tried several numbers you need to cancel the transaction (to clear everything out) and try again from the start and this time leave it blank. If you've already tried that, I don't know, sorry.
I've just had a look at it. Issue number is most definitely not starred so should require a simple tabbing past. But if that doesn't do it I'd put a 1 in. It has no bearing on anything except a few British debit cards and has no meaning with regards to any other type of card... The CVV is asked for in the next field.
My only two pieces of advice would be to clear all cookies and cache, be sure to tell your card issuer that you will be making an international purchase, and to call the international number given on the webpage. Ooops, that's 3. Oh well. Your profile here doesn't give much of a hint about your location, but wherever you are on this globe be sure to adjust your telephone call to account for UK time. You can certainly do the first 2 now, and the third if still required during UK business hours tomorrow.
The issue number is a single digit that is found on a few UK bank cards - usually Maestro debit cards in particular. If your card isn't one of those, the site should work if you leave it blank.
Thanks for the replies. I tried a different computer and the field wasn't required. We're all set.
