Isle of Man TT, June 2026

Hello!
We are currently working out the logistics of going to the Isle of Man TY in June 2026. Some questions…
1). Are there any ferry options coming into Ramsey? And from where would it depart?
2) instead of a ferry, does anyone recommend flying to the island, and from what surrounding location would there be flights going to the island?
3) if you were to choose another place, besides Douglas to watch the races, what would be your other choice or choices? And where would you recommend going in that particular town to have the best view of the races?
4) Any particular places or pubs to eat and drink and see? We’re spending quite a bit to get there so we’d rather see all that we need to see and be in the right spots as we probably won’t come back!
4) Is there a connection ferry between Douglas and Ramsey or, if not a ferry, what would be the best mode of transportation to go from Ramsey to/from Douglas?

Thanks ahead of time for any responses to any of the above questions! It’s so much appreciated!

There is basic information about getting to the Isle of Man here and maps of the main towns here.

The Isle of Man Welcome Centre in the ferry terminal in Douglas is a wonderful source of information . Staff are very knowledgeable.email them with specific questions.

There is information about this years TT here. The basic information will be the same for 2026.

There is no ferry to Ramsey - they all arrive in Douglas. Ferries are run by Steam Packet Company.

The Isle of Man has an excellent bus service and has a special timetable for TT week. The 2025 one can be found here. The information isn't likely to change much next year and bus times and frequency will be similar. NOTE that some roads are closed for the races. It also has lots of information about best places to watch and how to get there. (There's no ferry between Douglas and Ramsey but there is a regular bus service. Alternatively the Manx Electric Tramway runs between the two.)

Douglas is the main transport hub for the island so it probably makes sense to base yourself there. All the races start from here. Two of the popular places to watch close to Douglas are Braddan or Quarter Bridge - you can walk to them from Doulgas.

There is information about the different sorts of accommodation here. Book well in advance as many places will be taking bookings for 2026 once the 2025 races have finished....

Any particular places or pubs to eat and drink and see

Decide where you are staying first and then ask this question for a more detailed response.

Are you planning on doing any sightseeing or walking when on the Isle of Man, and if so what sort of things are you interested in seeing?

TT has approved Travel Partners who arrange packages for TT. For the USA these are Dukes Travel or Sportsnet. Reading your other threads, it sounds as if it is going to be a big group, so might make life simpler to talk to one of these about arranging a package for you.

There used to be ferries to Ramsey, which used the Queen's Pier. That was before car ferries. That pier even had It's own tramway. The pier fell into dereliction but is being restored now.
It is open again now every Sunday along with the rebuilt tramway.
After closure of the pier infrequent ferry service into Ramsey commercial docks continued until about 10 years ago.
Flights to Ronaldsway run from Dublin, Liverpool, Manchester, Edinburgh, London City, Heathrow, Gatwick, London Luton and elsewhere. Those from Dublin on Aer Lingus should be able to be through booked with a long haul flight.

I've just been reading this morning about the Victory Cafe at Milepost 31 on the Mountain Road (so on the TT course). It is in an old Cold War Radar Station, and is actually a Covid success story. It was converted (from a Museum) during the Epidemic and opened immediately the sealed Manx borders were re-opened.
It looks a very interesting place.

If you arrive by sea you arrive in the Sea Terminal - an excellent example of 1960's architecture built to cope with the then vast crowds arriving by sea. Still a fine building, if much altered.

Thank you everyone for your replies!
The times left for taking a ferry on June 4-7 are not ideal and most are from heysham and reserved seats are limited especially for under 8 years old unless you book a room $. I’m wondering if they release limited seats now to reserve this early then open up the balance later because I’m finding availability now for this years race ??

The thing is that there are only 48 seats in the Premium Lounge and 86 in the Niarbyl Lounge.
That's not to say there isn't lots of other (free) seating on the ship. Those are just the Premium lounges for which extra money is charged.
All timings and indeed port allocations are provisional until October although big changes are unlikely. They concentrate on Heysham as that is the shorter crossing, so is the obvious choice. Unless the new Liverpool Terminal has far more room than the old one then Heysham also has more space to marshal vehicles.
So what you see is what you get on the booking system. Probably more space will become available in October when balance payments have to be made.
So far this year is beset by rain causing much rescheduling of the practice and qualifying heats.
If flying they are not big jumbo jets. Your party will take a very significant part of the capacity- the planes are probably 150 to 180 capacity.
