Isle of Man TT

Hello!
Now we have our dates and where we want to stay when on the Isle of Man. So… in either Ramsey or Douglas, where would you recommend staying with a group of 9 adults and 3 children? The Nine Yards Bell Tents in Douglas looked like fun, and because they’re tent accommodations, I thought would be a bit cheaper, however it’s about $100per/ person a night. ($3,000 for all of us for 3 nights.) is this what is the average well expect to pay? Or should I grab it now as this place and others will only increase?

We actually need accommodations for:
Fam#1- 9 adults , 3 young children (that’s us)
Fam#2- 3 adults
Fam#3- 2 adults, 3 preteens
Fam#4 - 5 adults

Any recommendations?

I think you may have the price of the tents wrong - the prices I see for this year are £118.50 per night for a 2 person tent, £92.33 for a 3 person tent and £79.25 for a 4 person tent. I think they are all the same size so you are paying an under occupancy charge. So a 4 person tent is £20 per person per tent, at least on my reading.
So you need 3 x 4 person tents= £240 per night (US$290).
That would tie in better with a quote I got last week of £5000 or so for all 25 of you for the week.
If you stayed in Ramsey then you also have the beaches plus the Curraghs wildlife park just down the road.
Ramsey always was a genteel seaside resort.
Also you could commute on the Manx Electric Railway (essentially Streetcars).
If you're looking North have you got any leads on Laxey?- that would be an interesting village to stay in - also on the MER.

Kathryn, if you check their website, you can see the prices have gone up during Race week, and I can only imagine that they will get snapped up once people start booking.

That said, it doesn't look to me like it's $100 per person, but rather depends on the number of people in each tent. Here is the list of prices I'm seeing: https://nineyardsbelltents.co.uk/isle-of-man-tt-accommodation/

What is a bit confusing is that the Tents have two sites- one at Castletown (half way down the South coast) and also at Ballakermeen High School in Douglas. Last week both sites still had availability for this year, let alone next.
Scroll down the page and the Douglas prices are £130/£101.66/£86.75 per night.
I know the School - it's a 20 to 30 minute walk away from the main grandstand.
There is a big Tesco maybe 10 !minutes walk away.
These are fixed, not dynamic prices.
The prices are probably sky high, but have you looked at the Douglas Premier inn? - yes they have even reached the Isle of Man. Darned nuisances, but they have family rooms.
