Is There a Method to Confirm UK ETA Information?

We each have approved UK ETA for a trip next month (departing 6 Oct). Our travel advisor panicked us by saying the passport numbers we submitted when applying for the UK ETA may have a "typo". Should we reapply to make sure we don't have a problem making our connection at Heathrow or does the application procedure verify that the submitted passport number was valid?

Our travel advisor...

Who? Did your travel advisor fill out your application for the ETA?

Are you connecting to another flight at LHR? Are your flights all on one ticket? If that is the case and you are connecting on the same day you will be able to make your transfer airside and will not need an ETA anyway.

Your name must match your passport to receive approval. If you received the confirmation emails you should be okay.

Who submitted your application? You or your "advisor"? Someone should have the emails showing approval.

BTW, you need a new "advisor" if they are making typos on a legal application.

Agreed, if you have received your confirmation email, don't panic. And in future, DIY rather than trust a third party to do it.

Thanks for the quick replies! I was able to reach the UK ETA "help chat" this morning. After three iterations with an AI that could not understand the simplest question I was transferred to a human. Providing my passport number, name, passport "expiry" date, and the UK ETA reference number provided in the approval confirmation e-mail he was able to confirm the passport number for the ETA. It was correct after all!
