My family is going to go to London this October. So do you think it is ideal time for family-trip? Any recommendations for my ahead trip?
Thanks
It is ideal. A lot cheaper and less crowded

Given that your family is going to London in October, then it sounds like it is an ideal time for you to visit London. In the beginning part of October, you'll still have a good bit of daylength, and weather will be cooler but manageable. Are you looking for recommendations about what to do?
Ideal compared to what?
The weather won’t be as good as say July, but better than say February.
Daylight hours are shorter than July but longer than December.
There will be fewer crowds than summer, but there is a school half term holiday in the second part of October, so these weeks will be busier.
Recommendation - get a guide book to work out what you want to see. Let all members of your family choose something that they want to see.
You give no indication of your interests, ages of your family and length of your trip, so we can’t give much meaningful advice.
I stayed in the Kensington district in April. Using hotels.com, it looks as though the accommodation prices for that neighbourhood in October will about the same as I paid, and only slightly higher this month, August. Other areas may vary, but I suspect any time when the weather will be half-decent will not be a time to look for relief from chronically lofty London hotel rates.
Any time is ideal if you have the time and money. At least it won’t be as crowded in October as it is mid-summer.

I love London in October.
"Like" button for Nigel.
Any recommendations for my ahead trip?
From your brief post it is hard to discern why you chose London. If it was a 'dartboard' choice, I suggest you get a guide book and see what in London interests you.
Make sure everyone's passport is current , is the only 'recommendation' that comes to mind
October is lightyears better than the heat and mobs of tourists of the summer months (unless you have tix to Wimbledon). I was in London, Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire last October and it was wonderful.
As for recommendations, look at the RS, Fodors and/or Lonely Planet travel books for London to see what appeals to you.
It is always ideal to go to London.
I encourage you to purchase on line tickets which will help you bypass lines even with the diminished number of tourist during the fall season.
LV, perfect answer!
LOVED my trip to London with my boys last October. Here's my trip report:

So much fun stuff to do! Have a great time!
Not so sure about August.
Recent forecast from The 'Met' is that the current run of fine weather is going to continue into the autumn so it's quite possible that this October is going to be a very good time to visit.
We had great weather in Paris in late May, not too hot. No AC in Europe or anywhere during a heat wave would have been unpleasant. Our apartment at night was OK with a fan, but it would have been miserable during the recent heat wave. But we were on the top floor.
I'll be there this October, so I say YES!
