We will be in London for 6 days and want to find some interesting places to eat. "Interesting" as in unique setting/decor or different nationalities but of course good tasting food! The last time we were in England we went to a Hungarian Restaurant called the Gay Hussar and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are staying in an apartment called Nel Gywnn House in Chelsea between South Kensington and Sloan Square stations but we can take the tube anywhere in central London for a fun meal.
It would be nice to find a good pub near our apartment (walking distance) though if anyone can suggest one.
Thanks!

Not been myself, but heard good things about Sushi Samba on the 38th floor of the Heron Tower near Shoreditch.
Amazing food and cocktails with stunning views over London... Apparently.
One of the nicest pubs near there is The Queen's Arms http://www.thequeensarmskensington.co.uk/ A good range of beers, well looked after, good food and a nice buzz to the place.
We were just in London and twice went to dinner in this one area chocked full of ethnic restaurants. it's between Notting Hill and Paddington station, the 'Queensway' tube exit drops you off right in it (on the tube, 4 stops up from Kensington towards Paddington) A couple of blocks up the road, on the right is "Oodle Noodle" with hand pulled noodle dishes. Their appetizers were absolutely delicious... in hindsight we should have just done 'dim sum' with appetizers and if we were still hungry, then had the awesome, toothsome noodles. http://noodleoodle.com/menu.htm
There are tons of middle eastern restaurants there also. Their take-away wraps are fabulous! Such as grilled chicken shwarma with fresh vegies, a fresh cream based sauce, and wrapped up in warm chewy bread... oh yeah!
Steer clear away from the dime-a-dozen Italian resturants if there are none but tourists there... your spinster aunt can throw boiled noodles and canned tomato sauce together better than most of these places can.
Tayyab's in Whitechapel is one of my favorites!
