Incident happening now on LONDON BRIDGE right now.

This is a nightmare. My heart goes out to all involved.

There are just so many things to fear in life and yet, life goes on. We are not wavering in our plans to visit London and Paris this holiday season. The cowardly terrorists will continue to strike globally, but there are just enough places we've yet to visit that no amount of dread will keep us from our appointed rounds. Keep on traveling is my advice. One's odds of encountering a terrorist incident is about the same as being hit by a meteorite. I'll take those odds. See you at Trafalgar Square this December, sipping hot mulled wine and singing along with the Christmas carolers around the large decorated Christmas tree. Don't let the terrorists win.

Bravo George - so many people let fear rule (cue the 'should I visit...' posts). I'm sickened by this because we've been to these places on our visits - now they are also saying Borough Market and perhaps Vauxhall, but those could have nothing to do with this. As a matter of fact, we arrived in Paris the same day the policeman was killed in April...I mean - for me, it was there at the back of my brain, but I know the odds are so slim of being involved in an attack...

It is both heartbreaking and enraging...

Still developing and we don't know the details. But we do know what happened at Westminster and Manchester. My reading tells me there are thousands of known potential terrorists in England and hundreds of hard core jihadists being watched. Why not a major crackdown? England is small. While the same numbers might exist in the US they'd be spread over a vast country. Putting this in context: we are a few weeks away from a RS London tour. OK to say keep on traveling etc. But I'm at my daughters for my granddaughters 2nd B-day and my daughter is in tears begging us not to go.

Emma, thank you so much. Your post are always so very welcome. It's especially important when you provide us with updates when it's something as terrible and ongoing such as this. Prayers going out to all of you in London.

Alan, as this is a travel forum and not a political one I don't want to go into too much detail, so in short I'll say it's more complicated than you make out.

Back on topic: travelling is up to you. I'm not the sort who'll tell people they're ridiculous to worry about danger - if you don't want to travel in lieu of recent events, then don't. At the end of the day you need to make the decision that's right for you. If you're that worried about it, then don't go. If you don't feel worried, then go. Do what is best for you.

Oh dear.

Witnesses say the men in the van exited after the bridge and then began stabbing people. Have they caught them?
