So a coworker of my sister wants a couple royal baby spoons...you know...collector spoons with the babies on them. We will be in London later today and tomorrow before heading home. (Sun and mon). I don't want to go horribly out of my way looking for them, but does anyone know where we may find some? I know the shops by the British museum area carry a lot of touristy tchotchkes. We will most likely be in Covent garden/tower of London/London eye areas today and tomorrow prob doing a day trip somewhere.
This is a shot in the dark as i'm not able to research it atm, but does Kensington Palace have a shop? Harrods may have something. Buying from any random shop will get you fakes.
Royal Dalton, Wedgewood, or similar is the proper stuff... At a proper price.
Sorry for any inaccuracies, this is off the top of my head.
I'll have a look of we are in that area. I'm not sure if this person wants really expensive ones or not. I think with our horrible exchange rate right now, they don't want to spend too much...I'll have to double check with my sister price range.
I should think the shops in Covent Garden will have some. Museum gift shops may have them. If you cannot find them for her during your trip, she can try looking online at some of the museum "shop" websites.
I checked the official Buckingham Palace Royal Collection shop online, and they have no Royal Baby spoons. Only Royal Baby Commemorative mug, plate, and pillbox. http://www.royalcollectionshop.co.uk/gifts/royal-baby-tankard.html
But no spoons.
However, there are a ton of them available on Ebay:

The Covent Garden market is a good shopping place, but the shop at the Tower of London is VERY good, it is my second favorite shop, right after the shop at Kew Gardens. There are also some quite good souvenir shops along the walk from Leicester Square to Parliament/Big Ben.
And maybe for your next trip -- Just Say No! Unless you really LOVE shopping.
I do love the tower gift shop...but we went by in the evening so it was closed. Anyhoo, we found some at cool Brittania in Piccadilly Circus for £5 each...plus picked up a few things for us.
I would check in the Royal Mew gift shop at Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace gift shop and Windsor Castle gift shop.
