Any advise for traveling out to Bletchley while in London?
What kind of advice are you looking for? Take the train from Euston Station to Bletchley. Then walk a few minutes to the Park.
We used the National Rail website for train times and bought our tickets at the station.
Well, go early enough to get there when they open, which I recall is 10A. There are a few direct trains from Euston Station to Bletchley so make sure you get one of those (35 minutes vs 59 minutes). I had the app for West MIdlands Trains downloaded and just purchased while sitting there in the station (I'm never sure how long it will take me to get places on the Tube!). That worked perfectly.
When you get to Bletchley, after you pay, go over to the information desk and sign up for one of the free tours. It's about an hour and it has really good information, then you can go back and revisit things of interest.
Plan to spend the whole day.
Food wise, lol, I started with coffee and a piece of cake in the Block C area waiting for the guided tour to start, then had lunch at Hut 4. The cake was terrific. Food was good although I have no idea what I had.
I think I got the train back at around 4PM but don't actually remember. I also tried to time this so I had a direct train instead of a lot of stops.
This is one of the places that I'd been meaning to visit for years. Well, after I visited I could have kicked myself for waiting so long because it was riveting! So very interesting! I was just watching a special recently (Youtube or PBS?) and kept annoying my brother and SIL by saying things like ....See? over his left shoulder are the garages where the motorcycle couriers brought in intel from all over the area.
editing to add: It was a YouTube video by History Hit and was accurate as far as I could remember.

Have a great time!
There are lots of direct trains from Euston to Bletchley but some are slower as they stop more frequently- try to get on3 of the faster ones.
Trains leaving after 9.30am will be a bit cheaper, quite a bit cheaper if you are willing to commit to specific trains.
Thanks so much!
I'll be going to London after a repositioning cruise in late March/early April. Hoping it won't be too cold!! Love the RS Travel Forum and am using it a lot to plan my time in London -- about 7-10 days.
This posting caught my eye -- love the idea of visiting Bletchley Park -- I'm a WW2 history buff. Special thanks to Pam for the detailed info about getting there and taking the tour and where to get a bite to eat, etc etc -- VERY helpful.
@jho13 - Thanks you! I am a detail-oriented person and try to give information based on what I would want to know for a visit.
BTW, it's a very short walk from the train station to Bletchley Park. Essentially walk out of the station driveway, take a right, cross at the pedestrian walk and head up toward the entrance.
As and from 2 February contactless payment will be extended to 14 further London North Western Stations including Bletchley- so no ticket (physical or electronic) will be required- just tap in with your bank card at Euston, and tap out at Bletchley.
And the same in reverse.
The full list of LNWR stations added is Apsley,
Berkhamsted,
Bletchley,
Bricket Wood,
Cheddington,
Garston,
Hemel Hempstead,
How Wood,
Kings Langley,
Leighton Buzzard,
Park Street,
St Albans Abbey,
Tring and
Watford North
On South Western Railway contactless payment is being extended to Windsor and Eton Riverside along with other stations- so contactless payment will now be available to both Windsor Stations.
isn31c, sweet! I love that transit is getting easier in so many places!
Oh, that is excellent that contactless payment can be used to Bletchley! So much easier- just tap in and hop on!
If you'd like to use the cost savings of National Rail's 2FOR1 deals (of which Bletchley Park is one), you need to be aware that to use them you need physical train tickets or e-tickets with the rail logo on them.
Unless the new contactless-enabled routes will now be valid for such an offer, most likely simply tapping contactless for train travel will not be suitable for cost saving at places such as Bletchley Park, Hampton Court, etc.
National Rail's 2FOR1
a very valid point
