We will be staying in London for a week prior to traveling to Heathrow to pick up a rental car we reserved with Hertz. I know they are located on the northern perimeter road outside of the airport. Is it best to take the Tube from London to the airport (what terminal?) to pick up the shuttle that takes us to Hertz or is there a better route to Hertz that conveniently avoids having to go to the Airport itself?
Go to this website:
https://www.hertz.co.uk/p/car-hire/uk/london/london-heathrow-airport
Scroll down until you see "Collecting Your Hire Car from Heathrow Airport." Click on it and you'll get the answers to all of your questions.
It's amazing what you can find with new fangled thing called the internet.
Hey Frank slow down with this new age voodoo stuff will ya
Thank you Frank II,
The site provided me with the opinion that getting to Hertz by going through the airport is a super easy task.
BobZ, I've done it many times and it's easy: go to any of the Heathrow terminals (I choose Terminal 2/3) then find the rental car bus stop and ride the shuttle bus to Hertz.
In recent years when renting a car at Heathrow I have chosen Hertz for 2 reasons:
1. compared to Europcar: In earlier years, I rented through Europcar and experienced long waits (approx. an hour) to be called to the desk to sign paperwork/get keys. In contrast, my wait with Hertz has only been a few minutes.
2. compared to Avis: several years ago, I rented through Avis and found its Heathrow location a bit difficult to find when I returned the rental car. In contrast, Hertz' location on North Perimter Road is much easier to find when returning the car.
I hope you have a positive experience renting through Hertz at Heathrow...and a great trip.
