I'm visiting - staying in Wembley and looking to do canal cruise/ tour on the river Thames - anywhere from 1 - 4 hours - will like to do something low key and away from the touristy areas - can be in London or surrounding areas - open to ideas - does not have to be fancy - any info on canal cruises/tours will be appreciated
Perhaps you would be better off with a regular river route rather than a cruise. Look in https://tfl.gov.uk/maps/river?intcmp=40403.
Another suggestion is to take a canal cruise from Little Venice: http://www.jasons.co.uk/ or https://www.londonwaterbus.com/. Low key, but not away from touristy areas.
The River Thames isn’t a canal. You can get canal tours in London or you can get a cruise on the River Thames. Which is it you want?
Canal and river very different. Since you mentioned the Thames, i’ll assume river. There is a nice cruise, about 3hrs and £12? From Westminster Bridge to Hampton Court. You can then tour Hampton Court Palace and get the train back into London. Hard to get away from other tourists since they don't run boat trips where there are no tourists... but as it’s going out of London, it is far less touristy. Wembley isn’t too far outside of the ‘main’ part of London, but certainly not a tourist destination. I don’t live too far from there myself.
