How much time to allow from Heathrow to catch the train to Bath

Hi,
If we arrive at Heathrow on a Thursday at 9am, then catch the Heathrow Express to London Paddington in order to catch the GWR train to Bath Spa station, what time should we plan to be at Paddington station to catch the train to Bath. We want to make sure we allow enough time to get through security, take the Heathrow Express, and probably get a bite to eat somewhere along the way. If I book the train from Paddington to Bath Spa at noon or 1230pm, would that allow sufficient time? We shouldn't have to wait for luggage since we will only have our carry-on items.

Any advice is appreciated!

That should be plenty of time—assuming your flight is reasonably on schedule. . You will not go through security but you will go through passport control to enter the UK. We just did this last month and there were no lines, so it was quick and easy, but it could be different when you arrive.

There are more “bite to eat”:opportunities in and near Paddington Station area than there are in the Heathrow arrivals area, if you can wait.

When is your trip? Do you know about the cheap £5.50 tickets on the Heathrow Express if you buy them well in advance (like 5-6 months ahead)?

They are limited and they do sell out.

It sounds as if you are committed to train option and I am sure it will work well for you. I did want to mention the National Express bus option from Heathrow to Bath for others that might be reading the thread.
