We inadvertently made a hotel reservation in London on the site Hotels One.com thinking we were on the main hotel website. We have a confirmation number. Has anyone else used this site - is it legit? We are concerned that we were scammed and our card was compromised.
I did this same thing when booking a hotel in Edinburgh earlier in the year. I didn't notice until I saw a 399GBP charge plus charges for the whole stay which did not need to be paid until arrival at the hotel (Accor chain). I'd thought I was on the Accor site when booking but when I had an email exchange with the hotel asking about the 399GBP charge they said...it's your "travel agent". I was able to cancel the booking, got fairly immediate refund from Hotels One including the stupid fee (within 24 hours) and then rebooked using the Accor app.
As far as I could tell it is a legit site as Accor did have a reservation for me. BUT they are a travel agency and they gouge you with charges.
IF there is still a vacancy at your hotel of choice I would cancel Hotels One and rebook directly assuming you did not book some kind of non-refundable rate.
