hotels near London paddington station for one night

We fly to Heathrow and will stay in London in early August 2025 for one night before taking a train to Bath the next day. We think we would like to stay near Paddington Station to be near public transportation. Any other suggestions for where to stay near Paddington that is economical but safe? Or another location besides Paddington Station?

Premiere Inn Paddington or 63 Bayswater. Have stayed at the latter numerous times over the years.

It’s across the road from the Lancaster Gate entrance into Hyde Park/Kensington Gardens.

Lancaster Gate Underground Station with the Central Line is 1/2 block away.

A Restaurant to try is Tudkin Flavors of Malaysia. Tiny, popular, get a reservation. Pubs: the Mitre Paddington and the Victoria Paddington. All of those are walkable from 63 and the Premiere Inn Paddington Basin.

We stayed at the Premier Inn (Paddington Station) in October and it was wonderful. New hotel. The restaurant was closed for repairs, but the room was immaculate. Literally across the street from the station, but quiet in the room. We’d stay there again.

Another vote for Premier Inn Paddington Station. I stayed there in November. You just cross the street and you are there. Don’t confuse Paddington Station hotel with Paddington Basin which is a little further away.

Going in March and booked at the Darlington Hyde Park. I'm guessing it was recommended on the forum, but I honestly don't remember. We're paying £150-165/night for a twin room. If there's such a thing as off season in London, March is probably it, so rates may be higher in August. I'm fairly sure it includes breakfast.

I have never known of a discount code for Premier Inn... do you know of one and want to know where to find it or are you hoping?

Checking, because I don‘t know.

Now, I have booked. Flexible rate. I did not see a field for entering a discount code.
