Planning a week in London over Christmas this year. Any hotel recommendations in the south Kensington or Mayfair areas that would be considered somewhat reasonable? Thanks in advance.
What do you consider “somewhat reasonable” in two of the more upscale neighborhoods of London?
I usually spend Christmas and New Years in London as I did a few weeks ago.
I'm in Earls Court--just a stone throw from South Kensington--and prices are no longer cheap.
What is your budget?
We rented a Mews House over Christmas a few years ago for our whole family, lovely. We used London Perfect for our rental as we did a few years before for a 1 br apt in Chelsea.
Both were pricey but worth it.
We stay by the Gloucester Rd. tube stop and a more reasonably priced hotel a block from it is the Ashburn on Cromwell Rd. We stayed at it once as well as The Bailey’s just outside the tube station, but normally stay at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Vanderbilt on Cromwell Rd.
There are plenty of hotels in that area.
Thanks everyone. Appreciate it.
We enjoyed our stay last year at The Gore, 190 Queen's Gate. Very British hotel. Staff is fabulous. Near Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park.
