I stayed a few blocks from Paddington Station in March at the Native Hotel Hyde Park https://nativeplaces.com/property/native-hyde-park/ . My room was spacious with a kitchenette.

I'd look closely on Google Maps at how close those other hotels are to Paddington Station. There was construction going on at the Praed St. entrance and there is a LOT of foot traffic coming and going, as well as fast food and very touristy shops in the immediate vicinity. I was happy I was not staying in the immediate surrouding area.

Hotel Indigo London Paddington is a very short walk from Paddington station. The rooms are small, but they were clean and it had breakfast. We also had tea and scones one afternoon there. It is in a convenient location.

We have been staying pretty much every year (sometimes several times a year) at the Mitre House Hotel, for the last 13 years, as one of the staff members reminded us yesterday. Seriously, they've known our kids since they were small, and the eldest is now at university in the UK. We love the hotel - the staff have been pretty much the same over that period, they're super friendly and helpful.
The hotel is about five minutes walk from Paddington Station on Sussex Gardens, and about three minutes walk from Hyde Park. We love the area. Rooms are small, but it is highly cost effective. It's ideal for us because we don't want to be in the room that much anyway. There is a downstairs bar, and you can eat takeaway food in their restaurant.
There has been construction in Praed Street over the last few years, but it's well advanced and not disruptive. Alternatively you can enter the station through Eastbourne Terrace.

I have stayed twice at the Caesar Hotel on Queen’s Gardens, a lovely quiet residential street about 10 minutes from Paddington, also close to Queensway with shopping and restaurants. It’s a very nice hotel with excellent staff, comfy bed and decent sized rooms.

My American friends always stay at the Darlington Hyde Park. It’s on Sussex Gardens.

We had a good stay at the Delmere Hotel on Sussex Gardens (5 minute walk to Paddington). Its a Best Western Plus, so you kind of know what you're getting.
