Hotels and subway suggestion near southall

Hello,

I am flying into London heathrow airport. I am staying one day then will go spain via Gatewick and then on my way back staying one night and back to US.
I have very limited time.
I need to go two towns and not sure where to stay in hotel. I am thinking to stay nearby subway station so I will have easy access to subway to go to Redhill ( to visit my relative)and southall (for Pakistani/Indians) food.

Please suggest me town so I can easily go to both towns via subway or bus. I also looking subway route and bus route if someone knows the area well.

Thank you!

Do you want to stay in London or are you just interested in Redhill and Southall. Are you trying to get to both places on the same day? Or are you trying to visit one place the day that you arrive and the second at the end of your trip?

Redhill is a short train ride from Gatwick.

Southall is a short train ride from either Paddington or Ealing Broadway.

On this map you can see both Southall and Redhill and the train lines and where they connect with the tube.

What food is it that can only be found in Southall? I find it difficult to believe that there is a specific Indian food that can only be found in Southall.

Don't ask for the "subway" in London as you may be direct to an American sandwich shop (that divides opinion) or a pedestrian underpass, it's called the underground (AKA the tube).
